Industry Regulation enhancements launching on 7 November

13 November 2025 (Published: 24 October 2025)

IN THIS ARTICLE:

We’re getting closer to the next Environment Online release, scheduled for Friday 7 November 2025 – and we’d like to give you an inside look at what’s coming.

This release introduces an enhanced obligations feature designed to help Industry Regulation customers manage your regulatory requirements more efficiently.

Your Environment Online dashboard

Environment Online already provides a personalised dashboard that makes it easy to view and manage:

  • projects
  • applications
  • compliance plans and reports
  • instruments
  • enquiries.

What’s new: Enhanced obligations feature

Launching 7 November, the enhanced features will:

  • improve visibility and management of obligations for your instruments, including compliance reports, exceedance reports and annual fees
  • allow submission of multiple obligations for the same instrument in a single application
  • enhance your ability to receive and respond to departmental requests for information related to applications
  • provide you with greater ability to submit general enquiries regarding your applications and instruments.

Take a look at this short preview video showcasing the new obligations feature.

Guidance available at launch

To support you, we’ll provide:

  • detailed reference guides
  • a comprehensive demonstration video showing how to use the new features.

The guidance will be available on the Environment Online website on 7 November.

What you can do now

To prepare:

  • create an account to get access to Environment Online if you don’t already have one
  • ensure your organisation is registered in Environment Online and relevant staff are authorised to view and manage instruments, so they have full access to the upcoming enhancements
  • refer to the guidance on Representing an entity for help.
