This fee calculator is intended as a guide and provides an estimate only. Use the calculator by choosing the options that best reflect your application.
Fees associated with application and approval processes when regulating prescribed premises under Part V Division 3 of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 are set out in the Environmental Protection Regulations 1987 (EP Regulations).

Premises component
The relevant prescribed premises category must be listed for any proposed activities that meet the definition of a prescribed premises as set out in Schedule 1 of the EP Regulations.
Where activities fall within more than one category, all applicable categories must be identified. For amendments to an existing instrument, all categories listed on the current instrument must be provided.
Ensure that the selected capacity range aligns with the maximum production or design capacity, or actual throughputs. For amendment applications, the capacity range must align with the maximum capacity on your existing instrument.

Part 2 waste component
In this section, include Part 2 waste components relating to Categories 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 44, 46, 53, 54A, 70, 80, and/or 85B, but do not include Part 2 waste components where:
- Part 2 waste fees are not applied, or
- Part 3 discharge component fees will be applied instead.

Part 3 discharge component
Use this section to provide details of any Part 3 discharges to the environment.
Do not include:
- Part 2 waste components entered in the previous section
- Any fugitive emissions.
Discharge to air
Add the kinds of waste contained within the discharge to air, the appropriate location qualifier and the discharge rate, as set out in Schedule 4 of the EP Regulations. If there are multiple kinds of waste, enter each one as an individual line item. Use ‘Other waste’ for contaminants that are not on the list.
When choosing the appropriate location qualifier, if multiple options could apply, select the location most specific to your premises.
The discharge rate (numerical value) should be expressed in the units and averaging period applicable for that kind of waste (e.g. g/minute or kg/day), as specified in the EP Regulations.

Discharge to water
